Paypal Account!

The PAYA Paypal account is now set up - I apologize for the wait. I'm slightly clueless when it comes to Paypal - I know the very basics and that's it - so if you aren't sure about it, please just send a money order.

Anyway, the email address you need to use to send us money is bringya2pa@yahoo.com. Just go into your account, click "send money" and put in that email. I'll email you and the person who offered the product after I receive the money.

Remember, if you want to send a money order, just send us and email I'll give you the address. Money must be received by November 23rd.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.

Thanks to everyone for bidding!

The Auctions are Over, So What Now?

First off, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone that bid or offered an item for this auction. It was a great success. For those who didn't get to participate this time around, we'll be hosting another one in the spring so stay tuned!

If you won an auction, your next step is to pay for it. We'll be accepting Paypal and money orders ONLY.  I just opened an account for PAYA today so the Paypal won't be available for another day or so. If you want to send a money order, please email bringya2pa@yahoo.com and I'll give you the address for that.

I'm asking that everyone pay for their items within TWO WEEKS. If you do not pay for your item within that time, it will go to the next highest bidder.

Once you've sent your money, you can email the person who offered the auction. If it's a critique, you can start talking about that or give the details as to what doll you want. However, PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE ITEM UNTIL I HAVE EMAILED YOU TO SAY I'VE RECEIVED THE MONEY. When I receive the money, I will email the winner as well as the person offering the item. Once I do this, please go ahead with shipping the item or starting the critique.

Please leave a comment or email me if you have any questions. I'll be making another post as soon as I have the Paypal set up.

A signed --and full of notes copy of Something, Maybe! (The notes are from when I marked up the book for readings at the the New York Public Library and elsewhere)

Bidding starts at $20. US shipping addresses only please.

Auction: Paper Animals

Handmade paper animals--hamster and golden bear. Each is about 5 inches tall. Materials are just paper, folded, cut and/or glued (the eyes and mouth). Sorry about the camera glare.

Starting bid is $3 for each one. Please specify which when bidding. This means that this is a double auction going at the same time with two winners or one if she/he wants both [just have to bid on both].

Contact me at yan.pocky[at]gmail[dot]com if you have any questions.

Auction: A Doll of Your Character

Ever wanted a doll of your character? Ever wanted a doll of Edward Cullen or Harry Potter to carry around everywhere? Wish you had a stuffed Percy Jackson to keep you company? (I do.) Want a plush Rose Hathaway to ward off Strigoi? Want your very own Jack Sparrow to, um... I won't go there. Just finished reading the best book ever and wishing you had a cuddly version of the main character to hug and squee over? Now's your chance!

This auction is for a crocheted plush doll of your choice. That means the winning bidder picks a character, sends me some info about them, and I crochet them. The auction ends on November 7th, and I will have the doll finished by December 1st--in plenty of time for Christmas. The doll could be a favorite character from books, TV, movies, or even from your own work in progress.

Here are some sample pics of dolls I've already made. These first two are characters from my own novel, The Rise of Renegade X:

Here's another example, this time with Dr. Who's tenth doctor:

The dolls are about 10 inches tall, made mostly with acrylic yarns and stuffed with polyester fiber fill. They have little snap on bead eyes, but I can use yarn or fabric if the doll is for a baby or really young child.

The bidding starts at $10.

Treat yourself to a 25-page critique of your latest work-in-progress.  I'll include a little of my own Forget-Her-Nots swag when I return my comments.  The pages should be submitted by November 15th, and I will return them with my comments by Dec. 15th.

My qualifications:  My novel, Forget-Her-Nots, will be published by Greenwillow/ HarperCollins in March of 2010.  Also, over 80 of my articles and essays have appeared in The Washington Post and other national print and online publications.  I also taught high school English for 7 years, and I'm pretty well read.
